SENIOR C++ GAME PROGRAMMER

SENIOR C++ GAME PROGRAMMER 

Boon is looking for an experienced C++ programmer to join its engineering team. We are seeking a pragmatic and efficient game developer familiar with all aspects of mobile game development, preferably with experience shipping multiple games. As a senior engineer you will be a key addition to the small and talented Boon engineering team. You will help the team ascend to new heights, you will take ownership of major features, code quality, contribute your best practice know-how, and mentor junior engineers.

Ideally you’ve been programming from a young age, you have a love of computers and games and all things technical, and you love to build things.

Our small team has created some of the most stunning games available on mobile, we’ve soft launched two titles to date. We’re looking for team members who share our appreciation for the craft of software engineering and game development.

 

You will:

  • Join a small, super talented team of engineers, very willing to share their knowledge!
  • Have the opportunity to contribute at every level of the project, and work directly with our incredibly talented art and design teams
  • Work on Puzzle Gods and Bubble Beach, and our upcoming title.
  • Be given real ownership and responsibility from day one.
  • Be trusted to deliver on your own terms

Key qualities we’re looking for:

  • Outstanding programming abilities in C++
  • Knowledge of Cocos2d-x or similar
  • Ability to write clean OOP code
  • 4+ years commercial experience working as a game developer
  • Expert understanding of game coding principles and techniques
  • A strong sense of craftsmanship

Nice to have

  • Experience with content pipelines and optimization
  • Familiarity with AWS
  • Python/Perl/Ruby/Lua scripting ability
  • Linux/Unix experience and Bash scripting skills
  • Android NDK

Boon is looking for a motivated and passionate Game Artist to join us. As an experienced Game Artist, you will have a portfolio showcasing clear examples of how you can contribute and define a style for new projects. You will help the team ascend to new heights. You will have have an ability to take ownership of your projects from concept to finish.

Key qualities we’re looking for:

  • Outstanding artistic abilities demonstrated with portfolio.
  • Knowledge of adobe suite or equivalent
  • Visual effects tools
  • 4+ Years Experience working as a game artist
  • Expert understanding of game animation
  • Experience with content pipelines and optimization

Nice to have

  • spine experience
  • 3DS Max or Maya experience

2D GENERALIST INTERN

2D GENERALIST INTERN – GAME ARTIST/ANIMATOR

Boon is seeking an awesome 2D Generalist to join us for a 6-month internship. This is an excellent opportunity to learn from the super talented Boon art team.

The position is unpaid but travelling expenses will be paid. It is located just off Merrion Square in Dublin 2.

Key qualities we’re looking for:

  • Outstanding artistic potential demonstrated with portfolio.
  • Basic knowledge of adobe suite or equivalent
